Thorvald Nygaard 1892-1973 was a Danish artist who was the son of the
Politician Wilhelm Nygaard. He began his formal education as an artist
at the age of 21 at the Technical School and Kunstakademiet (the Academy
of Fine Arts) in Copenhagen from 1913-1921 and traveled on study tours
to Germany, France and The Netherlands. He also lived and worked in Italy
on several occasions. |
