Trained
as a medical specialist in pathology and nuclear medicine, he has spent
his professional career utilizing images of the human body obtained within
the confines of clinical protocols and methods. He has sharpened his skills
in obtaining clear pictures through daily preparation of computer images
and photomicrographs.
The techniques have been mastered through his career have translated into
more artistic forms of imaging. His wife, Joyce, has constantly encouraged
him in his love for photograph. As a singer, actress and model she has
used his images of her in her professional career, as have some of her
friends. In recent years he has furthered his photographic skills by participation
in a numerous photo workshops; most importantly he has spent a week on
two separate occasions working with Joyce Tenneson who he credits with
helping him see the human form as a thing of beauty not mearly a clinical
subject.
In addition
to figure work he finds portraiture challenging and he tries to capture
not just a nice image but more of an expression of the person. Having
lived most of his life in Western Pennsylvania he has enjoyed trying to
capture the images of the seasonal changes, while traveling has afforded
him the chance to expand into new vistas and landscapes. His extensive
career with the microscope has provided a keen appreciation of inner structure
as many of his early images show. Already he has had numerous images published
and exhibited as well as having many collectors of his works. He is now
ready to make his presence in the art world a significant one.
