Trasport's style is admittedly eclectic ranging from traditional to abstract. The artist, who has resided in California for over thirty years, has returned to Pittsburgh several times during the past ten years during different seasons to recapture the look and feel of Allegheny and Beaver Counties.
Trasport was born in Pittsburgh in 1938 and raised in nearby Aliquippa. After a brief stint in the steel factories, Trasport decided to further his artistic talents at the Cleveland Art Institute. He was away at college when Mazeroski's World Series winning home run sailed over the left field wall at Forbes Field. He shares his memories of that historic event in the painting titled, "Beat 'Em Bucs!" Collectively, the canvasses overflow with a feeling of western Pennsylvania like a cauldron dripping molten steel. Without a doubt " Ledgers, Legends, & Landscapes," is Trasport's love letter to the people and places of his youth.
