Walls…..Bringing Memories to Life
When was the last time that you sat down and looked at your
old scrapbook or photo album and reminisced about your kids
growing up, a favorite vacation, college times or your wedding
day? Like most folks, your photo album is probably tucked away
in an old cedar chest or under the bed out of sight and out
of mind.
Over the past few years our framing consultants have seen more
and more people bring treasured memories out of their closets
and onto the walls of their homes and offices in the form of
Theme Walls. Some common themes "The kids growing up", "Our
House", "Our lives together", "My career" Etc. Regardless of
the theme the result is the same, a showcase of those things
that you value most displayed in a thoughtful, creative, and
visible wall presentation.
Theme walls make great conversation and those walls that we
have helped our clients design have turned out to be rewarding
personal experiences as well as wonderful decorative features
in their homes and offices. One client took her collection of
Chinese watercolor paintings that she had collected over the
years and creatively reframed and grouped them on a dining room
wall. A businessman decided on a sports theme for his game room
and included everything from photos and yearbooks from his days
as a college athlete to vintage stadium photos and memorabilia
of his favorite teams and games.
Theme walls have included items such as military metals, license
plate, athletic shirts, family photos, greeting cards, yearbooks,
blueprints, certificates, vacation souvenirs, golf clubs and
almost anything else that you can imagine. All personal treasures
that now have an important and visible place in the home or
office.
What a great birthday or holiday gift…It's a gift from the heart;
and a process that involves the whole family in a rewarding
and beneficial endeavor. Some walls come together in a few weeks
and others evolve and change over the years.
