Mid-Century through 21st Century American & European Paintings

Curating our Collections of Modern Masters
Our Mid-Century through 21st Century Art and Objet d' Art are curated through a multiplicity of resources including; Artist direct acquisition through marketing agreements with our "Featured Artists", artists estate collections, direct purchases of individual works and collections, national and international trade expositions such as ArtEXPO NY, Chicago, LA, and other art acquisition venues.
Our "Featured Artists"are (in our opinion), truly the best of the best from America and Europe...Some of these artists have included: John Modesitt, Henri LePetit, Katherine Brown Galbraith, Peter Keil, Joanna Tlok,  Mike Welton, Pittsburgh's own Mary Lois Verilla, the late Anthony Trasport and Harry Holland, and other modern masters.

Bob Guccione started his career as a full time painter at eighteen when he left his home in New York and ended up in Tangiers to hang out with the likes of William Burroughs and his ilk for comradery and inspiration.  He painted mostly portraits, landscapes with people, still lifes, and abstracts that were influence by his passion for Impressionism, Post-Impressionism and Fauvism...After a dozen years painting and starving in Europe and northern Africa, he set his brushes aside to form a publishing empire of 16 national/international magazines with Omni and Penthouse magazines among his chief publishing accomplishments...And then, finally after nearly three decades of unrivaled success as a publisher he once again returned to his roots and became a world class painter...His works were exhibited in many prestigious galleries, and museum exhibitions and fetched prices ranging from $25,000.00 - $250,000.00 by the time of his death in 2010...Guccione's Mantra.... "My greatest passion has always been art."

Peter Robert Keil grew up in West Berlin in battered post war Germany in the late 1940s and 50s.  His paintings reflect a unique fascination with people on the fringes of society who may have been pushed too far and have chosen an existence on the other side of society.  Although Keil grew up in drab, un-extraordinary neighborhoods with rows of grey block houses, his neo-expressionist action paintings flow with color and excitement.  Think Jackson Pollack and Willem de Kooning as one... attacking a canvas spread out over his studio floor with music blaring and blood flowing through his veins as he makes his personal statement about what he knows best... human struggle.

Our Prices and Market Values
Valuation of particular paintings represented at Eclectic Art & Objects Gallery are determined based on many factors including: current market conditions/economy, status of particular artists, composition and subject matter, artistic period, provenance, auction and gallery records, physical condition, rarity,  etc.  Fine art paintings are discretionary purchases and unlike commodities such as automobiles or televisions, each painting is priced based on a unique set of variables, but, in the end, paintings are purchased based on the personal tastes and desires of the purchaser...an original creation is spawned in the heart and imagination of the artist and ultimately affects each of its audiences differently.

Whether your purchase is a $200.00 treasure or a $30,000.00 masterpiece, the key to purchasing artwork is to buy only what you love and what you can afford and only deal with an art gallery that you trust and have a relationship with...A fair price means that all of our various publics, including: our wholesale customers, who resale our paintings .. our designers and art consultants who recommend our services to their customers, as well as our collectors and art enthusiasts, all of whom have to be satisfied with their art expenditure and experience...and, we guarantee their satisfaction!
